BUILDING SCHOOLS FOR THE FUTURE (BSF)
Sustainability for BSF
Since the commencement of the national BSF programme, the
sustainability challenge has increased with almost every Output
Specification to be released.
Inbuilt services have helped our clients to meet and exceed the
requirements of each Local Authority bid.
Sustainability management consultancy
We have embedded sustainability into the policies and strategies
of our client's Local Education Partnership (LEP). In
addition, we employed our Sustainability MAP (S-MAP) to manage the
holistic sustainability for each new build and refurbishment
project.
We led on the formation and functional procedures of a LEP
Sustainability Group, which provides a highly effective method to
manage the collaboration of the experts within the team.
BREEAM consultancy
We provided up-front strategic advice and ongoing management to
ensure cost-effective and trouble-free BREEAM submissions.
Low-carbon advice
To support the management of the supply chain's efforts to meet
the Local Authority's carbon requirements (e.g. 27kgCO2/m2), we
provided independent expertise on innovative approaches to energy
efficiency and renewable energy systems.
PassivHaus advice
We provided advice directly to design teams on the exemplary
energy efficiency principles of PassivHaus. Our advice has
been in the format of Design Guides, Workshops and PHPP
modelling.
"Inbuilt's contribution has been invaluable in terms of
ensuring that our school developments are highly sustainable whilst
also being commercially viable. Their input at an early stage of
the project ensured that the sustainability targets we set, whist
being challenging, were affordable and realistic. They are now an
integral part of our delivery team -I would recommend them without
hesitation."
