We are looking for an outstanding person to join our team.
Ideally with a background in building services, engineering or
science, you will share our passion for delivering genuinely
sustainable buildings. Prior knowledge and experience associated
with evaluating and specifying renewable energy technologies is a
key requirement for this role.
The grade and salary associated with this appointment will be
commensurate with the qualifications and prior experience of the
successful candidate.

Personal Qualities
- Educated to at least degree level, or have equivalent work
experience - preferably Building Services, or engineering/science
first degree with (ideally) specific higher qualifications in
renewable energy
- Highly motivated character - able to work alone and within
teams
- Engaging personality - work as part of a team and with clients,
be persuasive but not confrontational
- Ambitious - want to assume responsibility for projects and to
be a part of growing new business
- Flexible - be able to work wherever the work demands and to
work out of hours if necessary
- Good communicator - be able to prepare accurate precise work
(proposal, reports, presentations)
- Genuine commitment to sustainability - to be a part of business
seeking to make real change not just have a career
Technical Qualities
- Proven track record - be able to demonstrate a range of
projects managed / delivered
- Feasibility and strategic appraisal - to establish from a wide
range of renewables the most appropriate solutions
- Detailed design/delivery - have specialism within the
renewables area where detailed design delivery and an understanding
of Whole Life Costing can be demonstrated.
- Wider understanding of the low carbon agenda - be able to work
with others to deliver genuine sustainable low energy buildings not
just renewables
- Be aware of technical and regulatory developments - show
understanding of developments in clean tech and renewable energy
field.
- Be fully conversant with FIT's and the proposed RHI Commercial
Qualities
The following qualities are also highly desirable:-
- Entrepreneurial - be able to demonstrate out of the box
commercial thinking
- Be able to effectively network across a range of markets and
sectors
- Management skills - be able to manage small or large and
complex projects
- Be able to work to tight timeframes and programme manage others
where necessary
- Organisational skills - be able to work across the RES Group,
Inbuilt, RES Onsite
- Financial management - demonstrate understanding of project
financial management
- Business planning - be able to prepare and deliver a business
plan
- Multiple tasks - be able to manage a number of projects/tasks
and different stages with different levels of complexity
